It seems that Reed Midem’s name and those of its exhibitions are being unlawfully used within the framework of a world wide scale fraudulent venture.
This has recently been brought to our attention by participants who have been solicited by companies offering, via internet, their accommodation services for room or apartment reservations in Cannes or in surrounding cities at the occasion of their participation to our exhibitions.
After settling payment for accommodation, these attendees have had the unpleasant surprise upon realising that these reservations had in fact never existed.
These maneuvers emanate from companies that are in no way linked with Reed MIDEM even if the names of both the trade show and Reed MIDEM itself are mentioned in their offers.
Some of these companies present themselves under names such as Ultimate Living Group, Riviera Network, Expo Group Travel, and Business Travel International, this list being not exhaustive.
Should you be solicited by an identical proposal, we strongly recommend that :
- a scrupulous examination be completed in regards to both the reservation terms & financial conditions
- and thoroughly document oneself regarding the companies issuing the offer, before making any commitments whatsoever.
For your information, all property rental agencies in France must be holders of a professional licence, a bank guarantee and civil liability insurance. In addition, the inclusion of this information on all official documentation, including their website, is compulsory. The same conditions apply to travel agencies which are entitled to presenting the same legal guarantees.
